5 to 9 p.m. — Lake Dallas Green Chile Festival presented by the youth at Lake Cities United Methodist Church, 300 E. Hundley Drive in Lake Dallas. Event includes sales of fresh and roasted peppers, vendors and live music. Call 940-321-6100 or e-mail youthdirector@lakecitiesumc.org .

6 p.m. — Concert and auction at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 4725 FM720 West in Aubrey. Proceeds will benefit a local food bank, church outreach ministries and other charitable projects. Free, but love offerings will be accepted.

6 to 7 p.m. — Denton Bach Society auditions, by appointment on Monday and Sept. 17, in Flinn Hall of First United Methodist Church of Denton, 201 S. Locust St. Singers are asked to vocalize, to demonstrate basic sight-reading skills and to bring a song or aria of their choice. 7 to 8:30 p.m. — Denton Community Chorus’ first practice of the 2012-13 season, at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2121 E. University Drive. Anyone who likes to sing is invited to participate.
