10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Helio-Con, a speculative fiction convention, at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theatre, 100 N. Charles St. Event includes vendors, gaming, costume contests and more. Guests include Felix Silla, Michael Jan Friedman, Rachel Caine, Sonny Strait, Steve Erwin, Lewis Lovhaug, Kristin McGuire and Weldon Adams. Sponsored by the League of Extraordinary Jews, a club based at Congregation Kol Ami (however, this is not a religious event). Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for students with ID, $5 for children; proceeds go toward Habitat for Humanity and the synagogue. Visit .
