An employee of a property leasing and management company reported to Denton police that someone listed one of the company's properties for lease on an online classifieds site.
The property, located in the 2100 block of Northwood Terrace, belongs to another employee who reported that he didn't list the property on the classifieds site.
There was an e-mail address on the advertisement, which the owner reported he used to try to contact the person and get the advertisement taken down.
He told police that he got a generic response about setting up an appointment to see the property.
A woman contacted the leasing and management company and said she had spoken with a man in regard to the online advertisement.

500 block of East Windsor Drive - A woman reported to Denton police Sunday that a man she recently started dating stole $300 out of her purse.
The woman, who met police in the parking lot of her apartment complex, reported that he was upstairs sleeping in her bed.
She told police that during the night he was coughing a lot so she got him a glass of water and when she returned to her bedroom, he was facing away from her and shoving something in his front pocket.
She thought it was her money but didn't say anything to him at the time, according to the report.
The woman reported that she was sure she had three $100 bills in her purse and they were now missing. She told police that she had let him borrow another $300 a few days prior.
Officers asked the man if he took her money and reported that he hadn't. The man showed police $338, including three $100 bills.
He told police he got the money from work.
The woman told police that she wouldn't press charges if the man gave her the money back.
The man had an outstanding warrant and was arrested, the report stated.
He later said he thinks the woman reported the money stolen because she wanted back the $300 she let him borrow.
The officer reported that he was unable to determine who the money belonged to, so he confiscated it and placed it into evidence.
