Denton police arrested a man Tuesday after receiving reports he exposed himself to several women on the Square.

Shortly before 5 p.m. officers received two calls from women who said a man in his early 20s exposed himself to them and others on a city street. The women gave officers a description of what the man was wearing, according to a police report.

An officer found a man in the 100 block of North Elm Street matching the women's descriptions and approached him.

The man initially denied any wrongdoing but "broke down and began to cry" when two other officers arrived at the scene, according to the report.

The man, who admitted to previously being arrested on charges of indecent exposure, said he was sick and does not know why he exposes himself, the report stated.

Witnesses identified him, and police took him to city jail, according to the report.

Other reports

Denton - A woman told Denton police her son lent his vehicle to a friend who refuses to bring it back.

According to a police report, the son went out of state in November. Before he left, his mother agreed to let the friend use the vehicle while he was away.

The mother and friend signed a contract agreeing that the friend would be responsible for the vehicle and was not allowed to let another person use the vehicle, the report stated.

When the son returned home, the mother asked the friend to bring her son's vehicle back, and the friend refused. The son told an officer he wanted to press charges.

The officer was also informed that the son had given the same friend his checking account number to pay a phone bill for him.

On Tuesday, the mother and son discovered that someone had been using the account to pay for several items, and that between the months of December and February there had been several unauthorized withdrawals from the account, according to the report.

The mother and son told police they believe the friend is responsible.

FM156 and FM1384, Denton County - A representative from a cellphone company reported to a sheriff's deputy that 35 feet of ground wire was taken from a cellphone tower.

The ground wire is expected to cost $500 to replace.

A technician said he was last out at the site Nov. 17.

According to a deputy's report, there are no suspects and no signs of forced entry to the fence area surrounding the tower.

12000 Bell Road, Pilot Point - A man reported to a sheriff's deputy Tuesday that 630 feet of copper was taken from his property.

He said the copper, which was coiled up and placed in front of his barn, is valued at approximately $2,000.

The man told the deputy that the wire is used underground for a water well, according to the report.

The man told police that a man came to his residence asking for scrap metal, to which he replied he had none.

According to the report, the man making the complaint believes the man who asked for the scrap metal could be involved with his copper's disappearance.

No evidence was found at the scene.
