Denton police responded to a call about a driver who had pointed a gun at another driver Friday while driving on Interstate 35, but found out later the driver had pointed a piece of metal like it was a gun.
A man tol´d police the driver had pointed a gun at him, but no weapon was found when police searched the driver’s vehicle.
The driver admitted to police he’d pointed a piece of metal like it was a gun, according to a police report, and he received a citation for disorderly conduct for the gesture.
Police also found marijuana and an open beer can in his car, and he was written citations for drug paraphernalia and having an open container, according to the report.

1900 block of Woodbrook — The president of a club reported to Denton police that she ordered a new box of checks for the club in May and they never arrived.
On June 26, she learned some suspicious accounts had been opened with the checks, she told police.
The club president contacted the bank and found out someone had been using the checks since June 4, she reported.
The account has been frozen, according to a police report.
