Blotter: Report: Suspect shoots man at house Thursday night

Denton police are investigating a Thursday night shooting in the 600 block of Cordell Street.

At 10:45 p.m., a woman called called police and reported that a man came to the door and asked for help to fix a broken car, officials said.

The caller told police that her father went to the front porch to talk to the man and was shot, according to a news release.

Officer Ryan Grelle, spokesman for the Denton Police Department, said the man was taken by medical helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with unknown injuries.

Police are still working to compile a description of the suspect, who has not been caught, according to the release.

2400 block of Charlotte Street — A 51-year-old man reported to police that he was stabbed after a fight Thursday night.

He told police he punched someone in the face then went to his apartment. The man then grabbed a baseball bat and walked to the parking lot where he was confronted by two men, according to a police report. Police said the man was stabbed in the right arm.

No assault charges had been filed.

Aubrey firefighters responded to six medical calls, one illegal burn and one traffic incident. Aubrey police responded to one animal complaint and one traffic incident.

Bartonville police assisted one agency and responded to six traffic calls and one traffic incident.

Corinth police assisted three agencies and responded to one structure fire, one harassment report, one intoxicated person, one road blockage, seven suspicious activity calls, 36 traffic calls, one welfare concern, one traffic incident and eight animal complaints.

Double Oak firefighters responded to one medical call. Double Oak police responded to one noise complaint and one medical call and assisted one agency.

Flower Mound police responded to one illegal dumping, one traffic call and eight public nuisance calls and assisted one motorist.

Hickory Creek police responded to one medical call, one ordinance violation, one road blockage, six suspicious activity calls, six theft calls and 14 traffic calls.

Justin firefighters responded to one medical call. Justin police responded to one medical call and five traffic calls.

Krum firefighters responded to one fire and one traffic incident. Krum police assisted one agency and responded to one verbal disturbance, one intoxicated person, 11 traffic calls, one welfare concern and one traffic incident.

Krugerville police assisted two agencies and responded to three traffic calls.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to three medical calls and one structure fire.

Little Elm firefighters responded to one fire, one electrical fire, one structure fire, one unknown fire and assisted two citizens. Little Elm police responded to one burglary, one Child Protective Services referral, two criminal trespass calls, one disturbance, one intoxicated person, one narcotics call, one prowler cal, one road blockage, seven suspicious activity calls, 39 traffic calls and one traffic incident and assisted three agencies.

Lewisville firefighters responded to one structure fire. Lewisville police made 15 arrests.

Oak Point firefighters responded to two medical calls. Oak Point police responded to one criminal trespass call, one domestic disturbance, one harassment report, 18 traffic calls and two suspicious activity calls.

Ponder police responded to one ordinance violation, one traffic call and one traffic incident.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one fire and one traffic incident. Pilot Point police responded to one animal complaint and one traffic incident.

Sanger firefighters responded to two medical calls and one traffic incident. Sanger police responded to one disturbance, one criminal mischief, one intoxicated person, one loose livestock, one road blockage, one suspicious person, one theft and one traffic incident.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to four medical calls. Trophy Club police responded to two medical calls, four ordinance violations, four traffic calls, one traffic incident and three animal complaints and assisted one motorist.
