Blotter: After-hours park visit results in charges against teen

Denton police questioned a teenage driver who was found parked in a city park after hours Monday evening.

According to reports, an officer approached a vehicle with three passengers inside in the 500 block of East Hobson Lane in the city park shortly before midnight.

Police said the driver gave the officer a date of birth that she later found was incorrect. Reports state that while the teen was talking to the officer, he was smoking a cigarette.

The 17-year-old was charged with failing to identify, giving false/fictitious information, possession of tobacco by a minor and violating a city ordinance of being in the park after hours.

11700 block of Justin Airfield Road — Denton County sheriff’s deputies were assisting in an accident investigation when the driver of the suspect vehicle fled on foot Saturday afternoon, officials said.

According to the sheriff’s reports, the suspect was later apprehended and transported to a hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash.

15100 block of Robin Road — A mother reported that her son took her four-wheeler without permission, sheriff’s officials said. According to reports, the mom alleged her son wrecked the vehicle Monday afternoon. No estimate of the loss was listed.

* Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 732 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Thirty people were booked into Denton County Jail.

* Denton police handled 271 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 19 reports online.

* Denton firefighters responded to 14 medical calls, one motor vehicle accident and one good intent call.

Argyle firefighters responded to one fire call, two medical calls and one traffic incident. Argyle police responded to 11 traffic calls, one animal complaint and one loose livestock call and assisted one agency.

Aubrey firefighters responded to one traffic accident and three traffic calls. Aubrey police responded to one ordinance violation, one reckless driver, one road blockage, two suspicious activity calls, 15 traffic calls, one welfare concern, two traffic complaints and one traffic incident.

Bartonville police responded to one traffic incident.

Corinth police assisted six agencies and one motorist and responded to one disorderly conduct call, one loose livestock call, one noise complaint, one road blockage, three suspicious activity calls, one theft report, 11 traffic calls, one traffic incident and seven animal complaints.

Double Oak firefighters responded to one traffic incident. Double Oak police responded to one assault, seven traffic calls and one suspicious person and assisted one agency.

Flower Mound firefighters responded to one grass fire.

Hickory Creek police assisted one agency and responded to two disturbance calls, 13 traffic calls and one traffic incident.

Justin firefighters responded to one medical call. Justin police responded to three traffic calls and assisted one agency.

Krum firefighters responded to one medical call and assisted one citizen. Krum police responded to two ordinance violations, one solicitor complaint, two suspicious activity calls and one theft report and assisted one agency.

Krugerville police responded to one reckless driver.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to one carbon monoxide alarm, one fire call, three medical calls and one traffic accident.

Little Elm firefighters responded to one fire call, one grass fire and three medical calls. Little Elm police responded to four disturbance calls, two fireworks complaints, one indecent exposure call, one forgery or fraud, seven ordinance violations, two noise complaints, five suspicious activity calls, one theft report, eight traffic reports, two welfare concerns, one traffic accident and one animal complaint.

Lewisville police made 14 arrests.

Northlake police assisted one agency and one motorist and responded to one disturbance call, one reckless driver and 16 traffic calls.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one smoke investigation and three medical calls. Oak Point police responded to one noise complaint, five ordinance violations, one suspicious vehicle and one traffic call and assisted one motorist.

Ponder police responded to one traffic complaint.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to two medical calls. Pilot Point police responded to four traffic calls and assisted one agency.

Sanger firefighters responded to three medical calls and one traffic accident. Sanger police responded to one auto theft, two disturbance calls, one noise complaint, one reckless driver, one road blockage, two traffic calls and one animal complaint.

The Colony firefighters responded to seven medical calls, one unauthorized burning, one outside rubbish fire and one heat detector activation and assisted five agencies.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to three medical calls. Trophy Club police responded to one assault, two Child Protective Services referrals, two criminal mischief reports, one noise complaint, four ordinance violations, three suspicious activity calls, one theft report and three animal complaints.
