The aroma of marijuana took Denton police officers clearing one traffic stop to another one.
While at the first stop, one of the officers observed a red sport utility vehicle passing slowly and smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and its occupants because the window was rolled down, according to the report.
The officer told a fellow officer about what she smelled and pointed out the vehicle had stopped about 300 yards away at the corner of Holly Hill and Londonderry lanes.
The officer drove up to the vehicle and got out of the car to make contact with the occupants of the SUV.
After questioning them, the passenger was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, according to the report.
1700 block of South Loop 288 — A caller reported a woman was intoxicated and huffing from a spray can.
The caller followed the woman and observed her almost get hit by a cart while passing through a parking lot and then hiding behind some Dumpsters, according to a police report.
The caller flagged down officers and they observed the woman sitting behind Dumpsters while inhaling the contents of the can, according to the report.
The woman was arrested on charges of non-alcohol public intoxication and possession and inhalation of a volatile chemical.
1100 block of Avenue A — Officers were called to take a burglary of a vehicle report.
A woman reported that an unknown person entered her vehicle through the rear hatchback window and took her purse, which contained her credit cards, checkbook, driver’s license, Social Security card, student identification card and $80 in cash, according to the police report.
