Denton police arrested two of 10 individuals hanging outside an apartment complex in the 2000 block of West Prairie Street on Friday night.
According to reports, police were dispatched to a disturbance shortly before midnight after a resident of the apartment complex reported he heard a female in distress behind his apartment with a group of at least four people.
The responding officer noticed a group of about 10 people walking from the same direction the resident had reported the disturbance. Police said when the officer tried to contact the group, all took off running in different directions.
The officer was able to detain one of the people after chasing him for several blocks, police said. Reports show another man was arrested later, as well. Both men — aged 18 and 21— were charged with evading arrest or detention.
1700 block of Teasley Lane — A 30-year-old Denton woman reported to police that someone entered her residence and wrote obscenities on her wall. According to reports, someone entered the woman’s apartment and wrote foul language on her kitchen wall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Friday.
9100 block of Teasley Lane — A bedroom window was pried open Friday afternoon, leaving a Denton man a victim of burglary, police said. The man, 27, reported to police that the window to his home was pried open and several items of his were missing. The incident, police said, occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Friday.
