Blotter: Police search uncovers paraphernalia

An officer questioning a known methamphetamine user spotted drug paraphernalia in the back seat of the vehicle where the woman had been sitting.

According to Denton police reports, the woman was stopped in the parking lot of a motel in the 700 block of Fort Worth Drive late Friday night. Police observed small, clear plastic baggies in plain view in the back seat. The officer then searched the vehicle and found a meth pipe and a digital scale in the woman’s purse.

 

Other reports

2300 block of Oak Street — A domestic disturbance call led police to issue a citation for drug paraphernalia, reports show.

Police said a call came in about a roommate who was intoxicated and violent. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed a glass water pipe, marijuana grinder and a small amount of marijuana on a table in plain view. The items were confiscated and a citation was issued.

1200 block of North Interstate 35E — A 27-year-old Denton man reported a friend of a friend stole a pistol, gift cards, cash and all of his receipts.

* Thirty-seven people were booked into Denton County Jail.

* Denton police posted five reports online.

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 27 calls for service, one escort and three moving violations.

From Sunday, Dec. 22, to Thursday:

University of North Texas police had no new incidents listed.
