Blotter: Denton police arrest two people on various charges

A Denton police officer reported the smell of marijuana wafting from a vehicle that was parked in a fire lane with its emergency flashers on in the 2000 block of Teasley Lane on Friday night.

The driver of the blue 2013 Nissan Maxima was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and the passenger was arrested on three outstanding Denton police warrants, records show.

Other reports

5000 block of East McKinney Street — Police called the mother of a 12-year-old girl who said she was threatened in her home by a female, age unknown. Police responded to the scene Friday evening and reported that a window had been broken as the assailant left the residence.

No injuries were reported and no charges have been filed in the incident.

5400 block of Dolores Place — A business reported to police that sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday about $2,000 worth of building materials were taken from the location.

*Forty-four people were booked into the Denton County Jail.

*Denton police posted 16 reports online.

From Sunday Feb. 2 to Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 64 calls for service, six reports, three escorts, 25 moving violations and one arrest.

From Sunday, Feb. 2 to Thursday:

University of North Texas police responded to two criminal trespass warnings, one medical call, one minor crash, one welfare concern, one criminal mischief involving more than $50 and less than $500, two theft calls, one disturbance call and one harassment call; issued six municipal citations for consumption of alcohol beverage by a minor; made five warrant arrests, two public intoxication arrests and one possession of marijuana arrest; and assisted two agencies.
