Blotter: Denton woman arrested on two drug charges

A local woman was arrested while getting a lift from a Denton police officer Friday night.

The officer was patrolling an area in the 700 block of Fort Worth Drive and saw a woman walking past a gas station.

The officer made contact with the woman and after brief conversation offered her a ride to her Robertson Street destination, reports state.

Before the woman got into the squad car, the officer asked for permission to search her purse for guns or weapons, and the woman agreed, police reports state.

After the search, the woman was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of ketamine, according to police.

1900 block of Sam Bass Boulevard — Denton officers were dispatched to a residence in response to a domestic disturbance Friday.

Upon arrival, a woman said she was assaulted by her boyfriend who had already left the scene, reports state.

5100 block of Brookside Drive — A man called Denton police to report that his fiance had assaulted him and left the scene.

While officers responded and began to gather information at the scene, the suspect returned. After investigating, the officers charged the woman with assault family violence.
