Blotter: Police: Threat by inmate leads to additional charge

A Denton police officer was threatened with his life Thursday morning by an inmate charged with public intoxication in the 300 block of East Hickory Street.

Police said a 49-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication and threatened to find and kill the officer when he was released from jail.

In addition to the public intoxication charge, records show the man was charged with obstruction or retaliation and had a past public intoxication warrant from Denton police.

1700 block of Oak Tree Drive — A 57-year-old woman reported to police she was a victim of a home burglary.

Police said the woman reported her safe was taken from her bedroom.

1700 block of South Loop 288 — Police arrested a woman who reportedly went into a fast-food restaurant drunk Thursday.

Police reports show the woman left the restaurant in a blue Chevy Cobalt and hit a vehicle or curb as she was getting onto the roadway toward the loop.

Using the vehicle’s license plate, officers were able to locate the 27-year-old woman on Interstate 35W and charged her with driving while intoxicated, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

* Denton police responded to 320 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 19 reports online.

* Denton firefighters responded to 22 medical calls and three traffic accidents.

Argyle police assisted one agency and responded to one criminal mischief call and five traffic calls.

Aubrey firefighters responded to one illegal burn and three medical calls. Aubrey police responded to 10 traffic calls, one suspicious activity call and one traffic accident.

Bartonville police responded to five traffic calls.

Corinth police assisted one agency and responded to one assault, two noise complaints, seven suspicious activity calls, 34 traffic calls, two traffic complaints, two traffic accidents and three animal complaints.

Double Oak police responded to 10 traffic calls and one noise complaint.

Hickory Creek police assisted one agency and responded to three suspicious activity calls, one theft, 28 traffic calls, one welfare concern, one traffic accident and one animal complaint.

Justin firefighters responded to one medical call. Justin police responded to one assault, one disturbance call, one missing person report, one suspicious activity call, 11 traffic calls and one animal complaint.

Krum firefighters assisted one citizen and responded to one medical call.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to one medical call.

Little Elm firefighters responded to four medical calls, one traffic accident and one electrical fire. Little Elm police assisted one agency and responded to one disturbance call, one harassment call, one reckless driver, two suspicious activity calls, two thefts, one traffic call, one welfare concern, four traffic accidents, one animal bite report and two animal complaints.

Northeast police assisted one motorist and responded to one suspicious activity call, 32 traffic calls, one traffic accident and one criminal trespass report.

Northlake police assisted one agency and responded to one reckless driver, one suspicious activity call, one theft, 14 traffic calls and one traffic complaint.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one medical call. Oak Point police responded to one harassment call, three ordinance violations, six traffic calls, one traffic complaint and one traffic accident.

Ponder firefighters responded to one downed power line and one medical call. Ponder police assisted one agency.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one controlled burn and two traffic accidents. Pilot Point police assisted one agency and responded to one harassment call, four traffic calls, one traffic complaint and two traffic accidents.

Roanoke firefighters responded to one traffic accident.

Sanger firefighters responded to four medical calls. Sanger police assisted one motorist and responded to one criminal mischief call, one criminal trespass call, one disturbance call, one loose livestock call, three reckless drivers, one suspicious activity call and one welfare concern.

The Colony firefighters responded to one medical call and assisted two agencies.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to four medical calls. Trophy Club police responded to one criminal trespass call, one criminal mischief report, one suspicious activity call, 14 traffic calls and two animal complaints.
