Blotter: Routine patrol leads to arrest of man and woman

Two people were taken to jail after police conducted a routine patrol Thursday night in a motel parking lot in the 1100 block of East University Drive.

Denton police said a 36-year-old man was discovered to be wanted on outstanding warrants from Lake Dallas police, and after a consensual search, a 22-year-old woman was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, according to police reports.

The pair were brought to the city jail, according to reports, and the woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 3, less than 28 grams.

1900 block of Colorado Boulevard — An elderly woman’s home was reportedly burglarized Thursday morning.

Denton police reports show a house sitter came over at about 9:45 a.m. to discover the back door partially open.

A laptop and television were reported as missing, police said.

* Fifty-three people were booked into Denton County Jail.

* Denton police posted 19 reports online.
