Blotter: Report: Police unable to find phone despite GPS signal

Despite a clue from its GPS, Denton police are still looking for a stolen cellphone.

The victim reported his phone was stolen from the emergency room waiting area at a hospital in the 3000 block of Interstate 35E.

GPS tracking showed the phone to be inside an apartment in the 5300 block of East McKinney Street. Police conducted a consensual search of the residence but were unable to find the phone.

Other reports

1600 block of White Oak Street — Denton officers responded to an assault call Saturday after a woman said her boyfriend picked her up out of her wheelchair and repeatedly threw her to the ground and then choked her.

The suspect was gone when officers arrived.

900 block of Kings Row — A woman reported that her husband’s wallet was stolen from her car Saturday. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
