Blotter: Suspect sought in stabbing

Denton police officers are still seeking a suspect in a Thursday stabbing.

Police were notified of a stabbing victim at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton by an officer working off-duty at the location. They reported that the victim had been stabbed in Quakertown Park and gave a suspect description.

The suspect was known to the victim. The victim had been stabbed and cut on four places on his body.

Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Evidence was collected and an offense report was completed.

Other reports

3500 block of East McKinney Street — Denton officers were dispatched to an assault Thursday after a caller reported that a man at the location struck another man with a wooden stick.

Once officers arrived at the location, they spoke to people there, gathered evidence and completed an office report.

700 block of Hercules Lane — Denton officers responded to a criminal trespass call regarding an intoxicated man standing in front of a store. The man was arrested.

From 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday:

* Denton County sheriff’s call and booking information were not available.

* Denton police handled 274 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 25 reports online.

* Denton firefighters responded to 17 medical calls, a public service, a motor vehicle accident with no injuries, a vehicle accident with injuries, a police matter, a water or steam leak, a good-intent call and assisted an invalid.
