HOW TO HELP

 

The Arc of Denton County is seeking donations of electronic readers to enhance clients’ reading skills. For more information, call 972-436-8471.

Denton Animal Shelter donations can be brought to the Christmas tree at Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland St., through Dec. 31. Needed items include clay cat litter, cat beds, washable throws for bedding, pet toys, pet food, kitten food (no red dye), Dawn brand dishwashing detergent and bleach. Model train exhibit on display through Dec. 31 at the Wood House, 516 N. Locust St. Admission is a donation of canned goods for Denton County Friends of the Family. Display features trains and more than 200 miniature buildings. Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. To schedule viewings outside of these hours, call 940-387-4098.

Serve Denton blanket and coat drive at Wash It Kwik, 1825 W. University Drive, through Jan. 1. Gently used blankets, quilts, comforters and coats will be cleaned and then donated to Serve Denton. Visit www.servedenton.
