Kevin Perry devoted his time and energy to the medical field. The 28-year-old Argyle resident earned his RN degree from Texas Woman's University, got a job at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and later moved on to the ICU department at Medical City Denton, where he worked as a registered nurse. He had been riding his bike less than two miles away from Medical City Denton on Tuesday when a southbound Denton County Transportation Authority A-train fatally struck hit him. The accident occurred in southeast Denton near the intersection of Lakeview Boulevard and West Shady Shores Road.

DCTA kicks off free fare promotion

The Denton County Transportation Authority will give A-train riders a free pass to ride at the end of the month. The "free fare zone" promotion will begin Monday, Aug. 28 in conjunction with the first day of classes at local universities and colleges.
