H-E-B announced Tuesday that the Argyle school district is one of eight district finalists for the grocery chain’s Excellence in Education Awards program.
For the last 10 years, H-E-B has rewarded teachers, principals, superintendents and campuses for outstanding leadership and teaching.
The Argyle school district is one of three regional finalists in the small district category and will be presented with $2,500.
A panel of judges visits the school districts to determine an overall state winner. Visits will run through Feb. 24.
Winners will be announced at the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards ceremony May 6 in Houston. The winning small school district will receive a $50,000 cash prize.
