Lecturer of German receives award
The director of the study abroad program for Germany was recently awarded the American Association of Teachers of German/Goethe Institut Certificate of Merit.
Carmen Terry, also a principal lecturer of German, was cited for her outstanding achievement in furthering the teaching of German in American schools and her successful activities that promote the language on campus.
Terry has been a member of AATG for 21 years and has taught German for 23 years.
UNT earns honors for communication materials
The University of North Texas’ Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing received six honors at the MarCom Awards, a competition for those who create print, visual, audio and Web materials and programs.
UNT earned a platinum award for the The Chronicle Research ad campaign in the ads/advertising category, a gold award for the UNT Point of View video in television (broadcast & cable)/single spot category, a gold award for the “5 Tips to Choosing a College” brochure in the educational brochure category, a gold award for the College of Business viewbook in the viewbook category, an honorable mention for the Success/Achieve Recruitment Campaign in the ads/advertising category and an honorable mention award for the English Department Letterwrap in the direct mail category.
The competition receives about 6,000 entries a year, with winners ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies.
