Monica Thieu, a University of North Texas student, leads after Day 1 of the two-day Jeopardy college championship finals.
Thieu, an 18-year-old Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science student, was the only one of the three contestants to correctly answer the final Jeopardy question Monday and finished with $18,000. The contestants' totals from Monday will be combined with their totals from today to determine the winner of the trophy and $100,000 prize.
