Several local and area students were named to the dean’s list at Sam Houston State University for the 2012 spring semester.

Students include Kaylee Brazeel of Argyle, Michael Laurion of Argyle, Blake Woolums of Argyle, Ruth Becerra of Denton, Katelyn Pearson of Denton, Elliot Teague of Denton, Olivia Ross of Little Elm and Haleigh Ceballos of Sanger.

The Dean’s List is comprised of full-time undergraduate students who achieve a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the semester.

The Sam Houston State University campus is located in Huntsville.

Katelyn Pearson of Denton and Haleigh Ceballos of Sanger were named to the President’s Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University for the spring semester.

The President’s Honor Roll is comprised of full-time undergraduate students who achieve a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester.

Several local and area students graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, during spring commencement ceremonies.

Graduates include William Barnes of Argyle earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies; Michael Laurion of Argyle earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance; Megan Giesler of Denton earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology; Kayla Monschke of Krum earned a Master of Education in instructional technology; and Danielle Dela Cruz of Lake Dallas earned a Master of Science in forensic science.

Aleece Poole of Denton graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., at commencement ceremonies May 5. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater arts.
