NCTC to conduct awareness marches
North Central Texas College will conduct a series of events in April to raise awareness of sexual assault.
NCTC’s Project REV (Resources for Ending Violence) will be coordinating a “Take Back the Night” march on four of the college’s campuses.
The marches are events to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault.
A march will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Corinth campus outside the main entrance, located at 1500 N. Corinth St. in Corinth. This event will be a combined event with the Flower Mound campus, located at 1200 Parker Square in Flower Mound. Buses will be provided to transport the public from the Flower Mound campus to Corinth and back.
A march will be held at 6 p.m. Monday outside the main entrance of the NCTC Bowie campus, located at 810 S. Mill St. in Bowie.
The final event is scheduled for 3 p.m. April 18 inside the Student Center of the Graham campus.

Nursing students need items for garage sale
The Student Nursing Association at North Central Texas College is taking donations for a garage sale to benefit Abigail’s Arms Family Crisis Center.
The garage sale will be held April 13 at Lions Fieldhouse on the NCTC Gainesville campus, but several drop-off days have been scheduled for the public to bring by items they would like to donate to the sale.
Items can be dropped off at the NCTC Gainesville campus in Room 310 from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, and from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. In addition, donated items can be brought to Lions Fieldhouse from 10 a.m. to noon April 12. Large items can be dropped off at Lions Fieldhouse from 6:45 to 8 a.m. April 13.
Items that the association will be accepting include working small appliances and electronics, outdoor items and toys, housewares and kitchenware, exercise equipment and tools, entertainment items including movies and books, baby or kids clothing and shoes, baby strollers, baby swings, baby playpens, baby bottles, jeans or shoes in good condition, collectables, clothing accessories including purses and wallets, jewelry and small furniture.
Items that are larger than one person can move should not be brought until the morning of the sale.
