Enactus team competing at nationals
The Texas Woman’s University Enactus team is competing at the 2013 Enactus U.S. National Exposition in Kansas City, Mo., through Thursday.
The eight students will present their outreach projects at the competition, which aims to create economic opportunities in the community by teaching market economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance and business ethics. The projects have included conducting workshops and professional development support for the Denton County Friends of the Family and presenting a business and financial literacy conference for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.
The team recently won at the regional conference in Dallas, TWU’s eighth win in the past 13 years at this level. The winning team at the national exposition will continue on to the Enactus World Cup to compete against 38 other countries.
The team members are: Stephanie Avila, a business administration/accounting major from Denton; Tiana Fenno, a fashion merchandising major from Lubbock; Sandra Gonzales, a business administration major from Denton; Lauren Hoebee, a business administration/management major from Denton; Jessica Mensah, fashion merchandising major from Frisco; Maria Reyes, a child development major from Dickinson; Lacey Rodriguez, a business administration major from Sherman; and Christian Terry, a business administration/management major from Lewisville.
