Oakmont Women’s Club gives to scholarship

The Oakmont Women’s Club presented the North Central Texas College Foundation with a check for $1,250 to put into the Oakmont Women’s Club Scholarship account.

The club has funded the scholarship since 2005, donating more than $6,500 to the fund, which awards one NCTC student each year. The Corinth community organization raised money through fundraising activities and community donations.

MOS certification being offered

Students at NCTC can now take a test on campus to earn a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, as the school was recently recognized as a Certiport Authorized Testing Center.

Students can take an online course in the program, which teaches Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, and the certification test will serve as the course’s final exam. This is an addition to the Office Systems Technology program at the school.

Those interested can contact Dawn Dias at ddias@nctc.edu .
