Flower Mound campus offers 8-week courses

A new pilot program at North Central Texas College’s Flower Mound campus will allow students to take some college courses in eight weeks instead of 16.

This will mean students can take two full fast-track classes a semester without overloading their schedule. The first session will run Aug. 26 to Oct. 18, and the second will run Oct. 21 through Dec. 13. Courses will include government, psychology, economics, math, English, history, sociology and music.

For more information on the new program, call Desire DeMange or Diana Salih at 972-899-8412 at the Student Success Center in Flower Mound.

Vice president elected secretary of association

Brent Wallace, vice president of instruction at NCTC, was elected to serve a two-year term as secretary of the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators.

The association provides professional networking opportunities and serves as a resource on Texas community colleges for legislators, state agencies, organizations and other groups.
