NCTC names new associate vice president

Bill Winans was named the new associate vice president of human resources and organization development at North Central Texas College this month and started in the position Oct. 1.

Winans has 23 years of business management experience, including 18 years as a director overseeing all aspects of human resource management.

Winans recently received his master’s degree in human resource management from Excelsior College and was the executive director and facility supervisor for WinCare Inc. in Minnesota before moving to Texas in April 2012.

He will work with the college’s employees in Gainesville, Corinth, Flower Mound, Bowie and Graham as the human resources director and the director of organizational management.

Annual Little League Day set for Saturday

The North Central Texas College baseball team will welcome youth players to Darwin Field for its fifth annual Little League Day on Saturday.

The Lions will play host to Eastfield College for a scrimmage starting at 10 a.m. After the scrimmage, there will be a cookout for attendees at 12:30 p.m. Then at 2 p.m., youth baseball players will be invited onto Darwin Field to take part in a Little League clinic conducted by NCTC players and coaches.
