Regents OK schedule, new employees

The NCTC Board of Regents voted Oct. 21 to approve a four-day work week for next summer.

The June 2-Aug. 1 schedule will require employees to work from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday. All campuses will be closed on Fridays.

Regents also approved the appointment of NCTC President Eddie Hadlock to negotiate a new electric contract. The board also voted to set the December meeting for 4 p.m. Dec. 12.

Regents also approved the hiring of Dave Bryan as the skills development grant coordinator, Kevin Sadowski as Small Business Development Center business adviser at the Flower Mound campus and Bill Winans as associate vice president of Human Resources and Organizational Development.

NCTC Jazz Band schedules free concert

In a collaboration with the Gainesville High School Jazz Band, the NCTC Jazz Band will conduct its annual free fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

The high school group, led by Taylor Kami, will open the show.

The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to help pay the cost of sending the students to attend the Crescent City Jazz Festival in New Orleans.
