NCTC to present theater production
The North Central Texas College Drama Department will present the second play of the 2013-14 season, The Underpants, Friday through Sunday in Gainesville.
The play was adapted by Steve Martin from the original 1910 script by Carl Sternheim, and follows the story of Louise, a neglected wife of a bureaucrat whose bloomers fall down in public, horrifying her husband. After the incident, a poet and a barber show up to the home, hoping to rent a room and woo Louise.
The show will be presented at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts on the NCTC Gainesville campus at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are general admission and can be purchased at the door. Tickets prices are $8 for adults and $3 for youth, and NCTC students receive free admission with a student ID.

Foundation honors donors, students
The North Central Texas College Foundation celebrated the accomplishments of students and the donors who helped provide scholarships for them at the annual Donor/Scholar Breakfast on Friday at Lions Fieldhouse on the NCTC Gainesville campus.
The theme of this year’s breakfast was “Heroes Among Us — Knowledge is Power,” and featured professor Kevin Eubanks, the 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award recipient at NCTC, as the guest speaker.
Students who received scholarships were able to personally thank major donors to the foundation, and school officials were able to update attendees on scholarship growth the past year.
