Registration open for Edible Car Contest

Students in grades 6-12 and current Texas Woman’s University students can now register to compete in the 16th annual Edible Car Contest set for Feb. 28.

All entries must be made of edible food and the cost of materials cannot exceed $15. Cars will be tested and judged on their ability to roll down an inclined ramp, thus testing the durability, design and performance of the car. Other areas judged will be creativity, ingenuity and design.

Teams consist of four members, of which at least two must be female. All team members are encouraged to attend the event, but at least three team members are required to be present during the event to claim any prize winnings. Entries need to resemble cars and adhere to dimensional specifications as outlined at www.twu.edu/arts-sciences/edible-car-contest.asp.

There is a $24 entry fee per team. The registration deadline is Feb. 21.

Cash prizes totaling $600 will be awarded to the top three winners of the contest. For more information or to register, visit the above website or contact Anna Ryan at 940-898-3325 or aryan1@twu.edu.
