Two named to list of highly cited researchers
Richard Dixon and Ron Mittler, plant biologists and professors, were named to the 2014 list of highly cited researchers, a list compiled by Thomson Reuters.
The list includes more than 3,000 researchers who represent the top 1 percent of citing in their subject field, according to Thomson Reuters. This is the organization’s first highly cited list since 2001.
Dixon specializes in the metabolic engineering of plants. Mittler specializes in research on oxidative stress in plants.
Dallas student wins $6,000 scholarship
Chabely Rodriguez, a Dallas sophomore majoring in music performance, has been awarded a $6,000 scholarship from the Texas Association of Music Schools.
The Clara Freshour Nelson Music Scholarship is renewable for up to seven semesters.
Early registration open for autism conference
Registration for the sixth annual Adventures in Autism Intervention and Research Conference is now open online.
The one-day conference will feature more than 20 presentations from parents, educators and therapists on Aug. 2.
