Allan Neale, class president of Denton High School’s class of 1961,
speaks to a group of graduating seniors at Denton High School on
Wednesday.

Five members from Denton High School's class of 1961 visited their high school this week to spend some time with the seniors 50 years behind them.

Al Neale, the class president from the Class of '61, said he wanted this year's seniors to have a historical reference and to be able to ask questions of the older generation.

He noted that the principal at Denton High at that time was Johnny Guyer, for whom Guyer High School is named.

He also touted the class of 1961's annual scholarship through the Denton Public School Foundation. The class now gives a $500 scholarship each year and hopes to increase either the number or the amount soon, Neale said.

The class of '61 is planning its 50-year reunion June 10-11.
