DENTON ISD

Schedule pickup dates slated for students

The new school year for Denton school district students begins Aug. 27, and to help families prepare in advance for the first day of school, all the district’s secondary campuses will have specific days set aside to pick up student schedules.

All high school students registered for the 2012-13 school year can pick up their schedules at these designated times:

•  Seniors — Aug. 13, with last names starting with A to L from 8 to 10 a.m.; last names starting with M to Z from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•  Juniors — Aug. 14, with last names starting with A to L from 8 to 10 a.m.; last names starting with M to Z from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•  Sophomores — Aug. 15, with last names starting with A to L from 8 to 10 a.m.; last names starting with M to Z from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•  Freshmen — Aug. 16, with last names starting with A to L from 9 to 11 a.m., last names starting with M to Z from 1 to 3 p.m. These times will also include a parent orientation session.

Freshmen also will begin school Aug. 24, as part of the district’s annual Freshman First Day. The program introduces participants to various school clubs, organizations and programs and allows them to attend classes and walk the halls on their own.

Students eligible for bus service will be provided transportation to each of their respective high schools. Lunch will be served. 

All middle school studentsregistered for the 2012-13 school year can pick up their schedules on these designated dates: eighth grade, Aug. 13; seventh grade, Aug. 14; and sixth grade, Aug. 15

Students should follow the specified times set via letter from their respective school principal. Detailed information regarding sixth-grade orientation also will be mailed from the campus.

Any current district student who has not registered for the upcoming school year can do so using the Denton ISD online enrollment process found at www.dentonisd.org .

KRUM ISD

District announces registration days

Krum school district officials have announced registration days for its five campuses. Registration packets, school supply lists and orientation dates for each campus have been placed on the district website, www.krumisd.net.

Registration at Krum Early Education Center, Hattie Dyer Elementary School and Blanche Dodd Intermediate School will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15. The three campuses will hold registration at Krum Early Education Center, 513 Sequoia Drive.

Krum Middle School will host registration from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9. All new and returning students must register.

Registration forms will be available online later this summer, according to district officials, and a computer lab will be available both days for use.

Krum Middle School will also host “Team Bobcat Game Plan and Orientation” in the school cafeteria. The event will give parents and students the opportunity to meet their teachers and learn more about the middle school experience.

Students are also encouraged to bring their school supplies and “stuff their locker” at this time. The orientation will be held on the following dates and times:

•  Aug. 22: 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. — eighth-grade students; and 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. — seventh-grade students.

•  Aug. 23: 6 to 7 p.m. — sixth-grade.

Orientation for Krum High School freshmen and students new to the school will befrom 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 16.

Registration and schedule pick-up for new and returning Krum High students will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15, according to the following schedule:

Aug.14 — Students with last names beginning with A-L:

•  8 to10 a.m. — freshmen

•  10 a.m. to 12 p.m. — sophomores

•  12 to 2 p.m. — juniors

•  2 to 4 p.m. — seniors

•  5 p.m. — athletes attending two-a-days

Aug. 15 — Students with last names beginning with M-Z:

•  8 to 10 a.m. — freshmen

•  10 a.m. to 12 p.m. — sophomores

•  12 to 2 p.m. — juniors

•  2 to 4 p.m. — seniors

•  5 p.m. — athletes attending two-a-days

 

Krum High School

Football season tickets go on sale this month

Season tickets for the Krum High School football games go on sale this month.

Tickets cost $50 per season pass and include admission and reserved seating to all five home games.

The privilege of buying reserved seating is $25, with the remaining $25 being the admission price of $5 per game.

Each family is allowed to purchase no more than 10 reserved seats. Tickets may be purchased in person with cash or check only at the Krum school district Central Administration Building, 1200 Bobcat Blvd.

The following schedule of dates and times will apply to all ticket purchases:

•  Priority one — Parents/families of varsity football players, varsity cheerleaders and marching band: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 30 through Aug.2.

Reserved seating for parents/families of varsity football players, varsity cheerleaders and marching band will be first-come, first-served. 

•  Priority two —Public sale — first-come, first-served of remaining reserved seating: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6 through Aug.10.
