Denton police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Ridgecrest Circle at 3:11 a.m. Tuesday after a woman reported a fight in the street outside her home.

When officers arrived, they found a man, who was the caller's son, his friend and his girlfriend standing outside, according to the police report.

The caller told police that another man had been in the house before police arrived and had been rummaging through her son's room, saying he was looking for an anti-anxiety pill. The woman told the man to leave, which he eventually did.

Later, the man called the son's girlfriend to say he was mad and he was coming back to fight. The girlfriend went outside to prevent him from going back inside the house, and he punched her and shot her with a stun gun, knocking her unconscious, according to the police report.

The son was also fighting with the man and the man's friend. He was also shot with the stun gun, according to the report, which noted burn marks and red marks on the victims.

The son's friend came to help and tried to break up the fight, according to the police report. The suspect and his friend drove off before police arrived. The group provided police enough identifying information that another officer was able to locate the suspect's vehicle on Dallas Drive.

The officer arrested the suspect, charging him with burglary of a habitat and assault causing bodily injury. He also arrested the suspect's friend and charged him with assault causing bodily injury. The officer took the stun gun into evidence.

Other reports

1700 block of West University Drive - Officers met the representative of a cellphone tower owner at 4:43 p.m. Monday to take a report of a copper theft from the tower's service building. The representative told police that there were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.

The burglar took the tower's ground wire, worth about $1,000, and knew to avoid the hot wire, the representative told police.

The representative said the theft could have happened any time in the last three months. The representative also had no idea who could have taken the copper wire, telling police that many vendors had access to the building.

9800 block of Cole Road - A woman called the sheriff's office at 2:36 p.m. Monday to report that someone took three square bales of hay and a bag of horse feed from her barn sometime between 8 p.m. Sunday and the time of her call.

She told the deputy that she thought people who leased the barn took the items, but they denied any involvement, according to the report. The lock to the gate inside the barn was broken, the woman said, even though someone could just jump the gate.

10000 block of Cole Road - A woman called the sheriff's office Saturday to report that sometime between noon and 4 p.m. Friday, her 1999 Ford F350 pickup went missing. She asked the ranch hands if one was using it, and they were not, according to the report.

She told the deputy that, in addition to a missing rear gate and damaged side-view mirror, the truck had mechanical problems and probably wouldn't get very far.

The deputy later called the woman to say that the Grayson County Sheriff's Office received a road hazard report and towed the truck from U.S. Highway 377, according to the deputy's report. The woman could go pick up her vehicle in Whitesboro.
