Mansfield company recalls beef jerky

A Text Size

Beef Slabs of Texas LLC of Mansfield is recalling its 1-ounce packages of Mild and Hot beef jerky containing known allergens soy and fish that were delivered in January to convenience stores across North Texas.

The packages, sold in vacuum bags resembling freezer pops bags, did not contain an individual product label but were labeled with a white sticker containing either a No. 1 or a No. 2 and a four-digit batch code, such as "1801."

Company owner Scott McGinty estimated about 30 to 40 packages were sold in Denton.

Most have probably already been eaten, he said, adding that he has received no reports of anyone becoming sick.

Any jerky that that has not been consumed should be returned to the store from which it was purchased. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.

For more information about the recall, call 817-944-7072.
