An evicted tenant flooded his apartment in the 2400 block of Louise Street on Friday, causing between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage, according to a police report.
The property manager reported receiving a call from a tenant in a nearby apartment, who said that water was coming into her apartment.
The maintenance crew reported they found the key broken off in the keyhole of the lock to the evicted tenant’s apartment. Once inside, the crew reported the bathtub drain had been stuffed with plastic bags, causing the apartment to fill with several inches of water.
The crew also found multiple holes knocked into nearly every wall, the report stated.
The tenant was evicted on Wednesday and told he had until Feb. 20 to move out, the property manager told police.
