MerryLynn Gerstenschlager, vice president of Texas Eagle Forum, will be the keynote speaker for an upcoming meeting of the Denton County Republican Party.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday in the second-floor Community Room of Medical Center of Lewisville, 500 W. Main St.
Gerstenschlager is expected to speak about a charter school controversy in the state.
In addition, all major Texas candidates for the U.S. Senate have been invited and several are expected to attend, including Ted Cruz and Lela Pittenger.
The candidates will be given a few minutes for individual remarks and will be available for a meet-and-greet during the social hour at 6 p.m.
The event is open to all interested Republicans.
