The Denton County Transportation Authority’s A-train service hit the one-year mark Monday.

Since opening, the rail has carried 386,230 passengers over 302 operating days. In the days to come, passengers will be able to ride the new Swiss-made rail cars.

On Saturday, the agency began integrating some of its new Stadler GTW vehicles. DCTA purchased 11 diesel-electric GTW 2/6 articulated rail vehicles from Stadler.

The vehicles offer level boarding, incorporate enhanced passenger information systems and video surveillance and have space for wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles. There are 104 seats and standing room for 96 people in every vehicle.

DCTA plans to integrate more vehicles into service, with a full transition by September.
