A man complained to Denton police Tuesday that a friend’s roommates stole some of his clothing, killed his tarantula and set the rest of his property outside.
The man said his friend told him he could stay at the house in the 1700 block of Crescent Street because he had no place to live, according to a police report. But the friend’s roommates were rude, the man said, and the house had poor water pressure and was not up to code.
Then the roommates kicked him out, he said, because they were annoyed by his cat. They set his belongings outside but kept about $200 worth of clothing and some cash, a report states. They harassed and intimidated him when he tried to get the property back, he said, and he learned that they had killed his pet spider. The report did not state how the tarantula died.

1900 block of Fort Worth Drive — A convenience store owner reported to police early Wednesday that someone stole his surveillance camera from outside the store.
600 block of East Hickory Street — A man reported Tuesday that he received a bill from a collection company representing a cellphone company that he’s never done business with.
He said the bill showed that the account using his identification was opened in 2005 and bills were paid through 2007. The amount owed was $1,130, according to a police report.

• Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 761 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Fifty-one people were booked into county jail. Deputies took reports of one complaint of deadly conduct, two burglaries, one forgery and one case of harassment.
• Denton fire reports were not available.
