The owner of an air conditioning and heating repair company reported to Denton police that his wife was assaulted by a former employee Friday after she was fired.

The officer found the women on the floor of the office in the 200 block of West Hickory Street yelling at one another.

The wife told police the former employee became violent after she was fired and attacked her.

The owner, who was there during the assault, told police that once the former employee calmed down from the first assault, he took her belongings to her car while she and his wife remained in the office.

After he left, the former employee began yelling again and hit the wife twice in the face, the wife reported.

The former employee was arrested and charged with assault, according to the report.

2100 block of Sadau Court — A woman forgot her purse at a restaurant after eating with a friend and when her friend returned to pick it up, the restaurant employees told her another woman had already claimed it, according to a Denton police report.

The woman who forgot her purse told police that her Social Security card, driver’s license, keys and debit cards were in the purse.

The restaurant employees told the friend that they’d given another woman the purse even though she thought it was shiny and it wasn’t.

Employees said the other woman had taken the purse and dumped some of its contents into the restaurant dumpster, the friend reported, but she couldn’t see inside the dumpster to check.

Police were given the other woman’s name by one of the employees but they were unable to contact her, the report stated.
