A woman was startled when a man came from behind and grabbed her around the neck Friday night while she was smoking in her garage in the 1900 block of Cornell Lane, according to a Denton police report.

The woman told police she was sitting at a desk when she received a text and stood up with her back to the open garage door. That’s when the man grabbed her, cut her sweat pants and began cutting back and forth on her thigh, she reported.

She told police he then fell, got up and left.

The officer reported observing a large hole in her pants and that there were numerous scratches on her thigh.

1500 block of Carrigan Lane — A scared woman called Denton police to report that a man was knocking on her back door and trying to get in.

The woman’s mother drove up the same time as police arrived to the house Saturday morning and told officers the man was in the backyard.

Police tried to get in the backyard, but the gate was locked with a padlock, which meant the man had to jump the fence to get back there, according to the report.

The woman opened her front door for police, who found the man banging his head against the back door, the report stated.

Once he stopped, the officer reported opening the door and asking the man what he was doing.

He told them he probably had the wrong house and that he lived next door.

He wouldn’t listen to the officers, according to the report.

The man was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest, the report stated.
