The Corinth Parkway Bridge over Interstate 35E will remain closed after damage caused by a semi truck with an oversized load traveling northbound on the highway struck the bridge. The outside bridge beam was severely damaged and will be replaced.
An emergency contract will be awarded and repairs are expected to take from four to six weeks.
It is necessary for the safety of the traveling public to keep the Corinth Parkway bridge closed until these repairs are completed, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Transportation.
TxDOT asks drivers to be cautious and patient as crews work diligently to repair this bridge as soon as possible.
