The first in a series of three free classes on choosing healthy foods, comparing prices and preparing healthy meals will be offered from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Denton’s South Branch Library, 3228 Teasley Lane.

Additional classes are planned from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, and Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Meilana Charles with the Denton County Texas Agrilife Extension Service will teach the classes, which are designed specifically for individuals and families with limited incomes who are eligible for nutrition-assistance programs.
