A woman is in good condition after her ex-girlfriend allegedly beat her and choked her Saturday during a domestic dispute in the victim’s home in the 1900 block of Colorado Boulevard.
According to the police report, the woman called police Saturday after her ex-girlfriend began shoving and assaulting her.
The dispatcher reported that the woman was screaming for help before the line disconnected. Police officers responded to the woman’s residence and were confronted by the ex-girlfriend, who told officers she lived there.
However, the woman who called police told officers that she and her ex-girlfriend broke up a few weeks ago and that she changed the locks on the doors.
The woman told police that her ex-girlfriend punched and choked her after she said she didn’t want to rekindle their relationship. According to the police report, the woman had bruises consistent with being choked and punched in the face.
The victim’s daughter, who was told to hide during the dispute by her mother, said she peeked through her bedroom door and told police she saw her mom get punched by the ex-girlfriend.
Police officers arrested the ex-girlfriend for the alleged domestic violence and assault.
1300 block of Bridges Street — A man allegedly punched his wife of 20 years in the face, causing her face to bruise and swell. The woman called police and told them that her husband was intoxicated and that the assault was unprovoked.
The woman’s daughter told police that she witnessed the assault and that her stepfather punched her mother. The officer noted that the woman’s face had injuries consistent with an assault.
Officers arrested the man for the alleged assault and for driving while intoxicated.
