Denton City Council member Chris Watts has been elected board president for the Texas Municipal Power Agency. He is serving a one-year term that expires in September 2013.
The agency is owned by four cities: Denton, Bryan, Garland and Greenville and has operated as a power producer since 1983. It is located in Bryan/College Station.
He has served on that board since 2009 and on the Denton City Council since 2007. He is a real estate lawyer in Denton and an adjunct professor at the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
