The Texas Department of Transportation will be closing the northbound side of Interstate 35 East in Denton County to make repairs to the Corinth Parkway overpass from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Tuesday to Wednesday and from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31.

The main lanes of I-35E will reopen for rush hour, but the Corinth Parkway bridge will remain closed until the final repair is finished.

The work is being done to fix damage caused when a semi-truck with an oversized load traveling northbound on the highway struck the bridge. The outside bridge beam was severely damaged and will be replaced.

The repair contract was awarded to Gibson & Associates and will cost $197,000, officials said.
