Argyle town officials changed tonight’s special called meeting agenda from discussing personnel matters to addressing town priorities they may tackle in the current fiscal year. Tonight’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at 1005 Roadrunner Road in Bartonville.
Council members agreed during their last council meeting to meet at the Bartonville location to hold a workshop on addressing town and council issues. However, on Thursday city leaders posted an agenda that excluded the workshop items, to the surprise of some council members.
A few council members expressed their concerns about the agenda, which had items they felt Argyle residents shouldn’t be excluded from. Issues such as accessibility to the Bartonville meeting and government transparency also were questioned.
But since then, the agenda was amended and the city scheduled a regular called meeting for Tuesday at Argyle Town Hall. On Tuesday, the council will begin with a 5 p.m. executive session and adjourn into its open meeting at 7:30 p.m.
In Tuesday’s executive meeting, the council is expected to discuss the duties of the new town manager, who has yet to be hired, but interviews have taken place.
The council also is expected to consider “the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal” of the town manager, town secretary and finance director.
The council will also consider making changes to its ordinance that involves amending town officers and employees’ duties, special meetings and emergency meetings.
