A motorcyclist was clipped by an oncoming vehicle shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday at South Carroll Boulevard and West Sycamore Street, police said.
The rider was transported by CareFlite helicopter to Medical Center of Plano, Denton Police Officer Ryan Grelle said.
Grelle said the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries and additional details were unknown at the time. He said the other vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and police were still investigating.
2000 block of North Trinity Road — Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a burglary of a home. A man reported that a handgun and jar of change were stolen, according to a sheriff’s report.
The victim’s shed also was broken into. A lawn mower, cordless drill and edger also were reported missing. According to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, the theft took place between 3 and 5 p.m. Monday. Boot prints left in the mud were photographed, and DNA samples reportedly were taken from inside the home. No suspects have been identified, according to the report.
300 block of South Avenue G — A 41-year-old woman was the victim of an altercation Monday night, according to a police report. The victim reported being choked and having her arms held down.
2800 block of Wind River Lane — Police responded to a woman passed out from an overdose Sunday night. A police report said the victim’s brother discovered her on the floor and that she appeared to have taken several days worth of medication. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
From 7 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday:
• Denton police took a total of 25 reports, including eight thefts.
• Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 600 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Forty-four people were booked into county jail.
• Denton firefighters responded to 18 medical calls, a building fire, an unauthorized burn, a smoke scare, a smoke and odor removal and two vehicle accidents.
Argyle firefighters responded to one grass fire and one structure fire.
Aubrey firefighters responded to two medical calls, one vehicle accident, one alarm and one request for assistance.
Double Oak firefighters responded to one structure fire.
Justin firefighters responded to three medical calls and one illegal burn.
Krum firefighters responded to one hazardous materials incident and two medical calls.
Lake Cities firefighters responded to one assault, one request for assistance and one medical call.
Oak Point firefighters responded to one medical call.
Ponder firefighters responded to one medical call.
Sanger firefighters responded to two medical calls.
