The bodies of a man and woman who died from apparent gunshot wounds in what investigators characterize as a murder-suicide were found at about 2:48 p.m. Monday at an area residence by a Denton County sheriff’s deputy.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has identified the man as Nelson Rafael Rodriguez-Doran, age 29, and the woman as Cristina Maria Allen, age 27.
A deputy was making a welfare call at a residence in the 10200 block of Lakeview Drive in Providence Village, a development located off East U.S. Highway 380, when he found the bodies.
Denton County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Reedy said the department had received a previous call from the residence at 11:40 a.m. Saturday.
“We received a call from a woman saying she was trying to get in to get her stuff out of the house,” Reedy said. “We sent an officer out there — there was no alcohol or anything involved. They were having an argument, and they both agreed to separate and stay with friends until later. There was no assault or anything.”
According to Reedy, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a person who was supposed to meet the woman early Monday morning, but the woman did not show up. The caller said the woman’s car was in the driveway, but no one answered the door. The caller said that a neighbor had heard what were described as “thumps” and “door slamming” sometime between 4 and 6 a.m. Monday.
