About 500 volunteers picked up tires, large items and about 550 bags of trash and recyclables in Denton stream beds Saturday.
The annual cleanup is sponsored by Denton’s Water Utilities Department.
Volunteers came from the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University along with Guyer, Ryan and Denton high schools.
The city staff is already planning next year’s event for mid-October.
